Rainy Season Journey on Koh Kood for 3 days and 2 nights

Even during this season, it rained heavily some days but on Koh Kood you can still travel as usual. We decided to pack our bags and travel to Koh Kood during the rainy season so you can see that even though it's raining, Koh Kood is still as good 

DAY 1

It's raining every day these days. We don't want to drive to travel. For this trip, we decided to travel by Boonsiri High Speed Ferry Company. The company provides bus + boat ticket service to Koh Kood and return. The vehicle traveling will be a bus with approximately 40 seats, departing from Boonsiri Office, Khao San Road, Soi Tanee. The bus departs at 5:00 a.m. You must check in about 1 hour before the departure time. Even if it rains,don't worry because the driver is an expert on the route and drives well. You will definitely reach your destination safely

Around 10 a.m., the bus arrives at Boonsiri office at Laem Sok Pier, Trat Province. There are sitting area, toilets and restaurant at the Boonsiri LaemSok office. You can buy some meal, water, or snacks to eat before continuing your journey

For those traveling by Boonsiri Company. The company will take you to the passenger trailer to transfer luggage and passengers to the pier. When the time is approaching, the staff will announce the call. Definitely go on time, don't be afraid of missing the boat

It was raining on the day of arrival but there were still so many people as usual. We get on the boat, Boonsiri's catamaran ferry. It can accommodate approximately 300 tourists because it is a large boat. Even if it rains, the boat can depart normally. There may be a slight wobble. Anyone who gets seasick is advised to take some medicine. It was raining on the day we traveled but with a high speed ferry from Laem Sok Pier. Trat Province takes only 1 hour to reach Koh Kood 

When you arrive at the island, there is a shuttle service between the pier and the accommodation on the island. We can walk and tell the staff the name of the resort then they will transfer service for you. There is no fee to pay but when sitting, you have to be careful. Because there are many curves on the island, you need to sit and find a handle

We want to experience nature during the rainy season on Koh Kood. We are staying at Jungle resort, which is surrounded by nature. Each room is separated from each other. Give a feeling of privacy and relaxation. Anyone who likes nature and trees will definitely like this place. Accommodation is slightly far from the sea but you can drive a motorcycle. Upon reaching the accommodation. The receptionists were very kind and opened umbrellas to welcome everyone staying here. After that, serve you a welcome drink, which is cold lemonade so happy before check in. When checking in, we received the room key. They will carry our bags and take us to our room

The rooms are like small wooden houses with air conditioning, mattresses, towels, wifi, and private bathrooms. There is a motorbike rental service. When it rains here, the atmosphere is very good because there are many trees, the air is cool and comfortable

In the evening the rain stopped. We immediately went out to find something delicious to eat. For our first meal on Koh Kood, we chose Hidden Gem by Monkey bar Koh Kood, located in Siam Beach resort. There are a lot of menus to choose from here. The price is not expensive. It's next to the sea. You can have dinner while looking at the beautiful sea view. The total of this meal is less than 1,000 baht. There aren't many ATMs on the island, but don't worry. because of a small restaurant or grocery store on the island, you can pay via Mobile banking

DAY 2
The first day it rained so I couldn't go anywhere, but the second day the good weather with no rain. We intend to go to many places but first, we need to replenish our energy. This morning with breakfast at the resort where we were staying. The staff prepared breakfast, including fried eggs, vegetable salad, toast, and many other things. Breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

After having breakfast, it's time to travel. In the morning. We wanted to take photos at Klong Chao Beach. Capturing the atmosphere to show everyone. Even though it rained just yesterday, the sea is still a beautiful color. After taking pictures we stopped by for a cool drink at SKUGGA ESTATE cafe. The shop is close to Tolani resort. We ordered matcha chocolate. It was very good, not too sweet, and smelled really good of green tea

After sitting and resting, it was time to have lunch. Let's go to Noochy Seafood restaurant near Ao Yai. It's about 17 km. from SKUGGA ESTATE. The way to the restaurant is a bit difficult because you have to drive up and down the mountain. The restaurant is like a fishing village. Makes the seafood very fresh. We recommend that if everyone comes to this restaurant, they must order the "Black Squid" . The taste is very good. The seafood is fresh but doesn't smell fishy. We ordered 4 menus and couldn't eat them all with my girlfriend but it was wrapped back to the accommodation. The price of this meal is 1,055 baht, very good value

After having a full lunch, it's time to continue our journey. Our next destination is "Khlong Chao Waterfall", a waterfall on Koh Kood. When we went to the waterfall, the car's gas was almost run out. On the island, there are coin-operated gasoline refilling machines located at regular intervals. Or some grocery stores will sell gasoline for about 40 baht/liter when you reach the waterfall. You can drive your motorcycle and park it in front. Then walk about 200 meters to reach the waterfall. We go during the rainy season. The water in the waterfall is therefore high and flows very strong. If any friends go during this time, walk carefully because very slippery but the water is very clear and cool

After walking around the waterfall, we went to find a refreshing dessert. We chose Gathi Café located at Shantaa Koh Kood, a cafe next to the sea. The dessert menu has a lot to choose from. We ordered Monkey Fafe, Chocolate Mocha Fudge Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and green tea Frappe. This shop's whipped cream has a unique, sweet smell of coconut milk. When you eat it, you get the taste of coconut milk as well. Each menu has a lot. If you eat it alone, you definitely won't finish it. The total price meal is around 550 baht, a great deal with delicious desserts. The sea view is beautiful

Dinner on the 2nd day, We went to dinner at The Desk bar, a restaurant in Koh Kood resort. The restaurant has both Eastern and Western menus. We tried ordering pizza to eat. There were 8 slices. The tray was very large. If you can’t finish then you can wrap it up and take it back to your accommodation as well. The price for this meal is 1,000 baht. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. on the island and it got dark very quickly. You must be careful when driving. The entrance to the store is quite far. The road didn't cover all concrete and there aren't many road lights on the island

DAY 3
The last day it rained heavily because of a storm so we couldn't go anywhere before returning home. Unfortunately, on the way back we went to Boonsiri's high speed ferry as usual. We get on the boat at 12.00 hrs. then had to check out at 11.00 hrs. in order to take a transfer that would pick us up in front of the resort to the pier. The vehicle that will pick you up will be the same transfer that dropped us off. If you don't make it in time, you may miss the boat

The boat takes about 1 hour when you reach the pier, there will be a rickshaw from Boonsiri Company waiting to pick up returning passengers to take them to the office. We had booked return tickets for the boat + bus back to Bangkok. The bus will depart around 14:00 p.m. but 10 minutes before departure time, there will be an announcement by an official calling you to get ready on the bus. On the way back, the bus will be dropped off at 2 places. We can choose to get off at the Airport rail link Lat Krabang or get off at the Boonsiri office on Khao San Road
