Traveling from  Sihanoukville to Koh Rong, 3 days 2 nights, Cambodia. On this trip, we will travel to Koh Rong Island, Cambodia. It is a trip by car from Thailand and travels across the Trat Province (Ban Hat Lek border), a trip to Sihanoukville nearest as if traveling by plane. No flight daily and the price is quite expensive



Traveling from Sihanoukville - Koh Rong for 3 days and 2 nights. The Budget trip starts with an electric vehicle car, driving from Bangkok to the border of Hat Lek, Trat Province. Of course, before traveling, we must check the car charging station and make the book through the app before arrival 



Before traveling to Cambodia, you need to prepare to exchange money first. It's easiest to exchange for dollars. We go to the super-rich near our area. The rate is quite good please request a new banknote because if the banknote is too old Cambodia Resort hotels do not accept them



At the Ban Hat Lek border checkpoint, there is a car storage facility. The car deposit fee is 100 baht daily, with no transfer, or cash payment only. Because the keepers are old and not convenient to check money through the app

We chose to travel from the border of Ban Hat Lek to Sihanoukville by car. Luckily, a Cambodian friend came to pick me up at the border and was a tour guide for both Sihanoukville and Koh Kong. Ban Hat Lek border to Sihanoukville takes about 5 hrs. We will stay in Sihanoukville for one night before taking a boat to Koh Rong.



And then we arrived in Sihanoukville. After watching YouTube from other people who have come to visit. It seems like we are in China now. All Hotel, restaurant, and coffee shop signs only have Chinese and Cambodian. There is very little in English to show. If Chinese people come to travel, I can guarantee that life is very comfortable.



Arriving in Sihanoukville, you cannot miss it. the monument consists of two golden lions are outstanding symbol of Sihanoukville. If you didn’t come to visit that you haven't arrived at Sihanoukville yet






Today, we are staying at  SS hotel. The price is 1,080 baht per night in Thai baht. It's not expensive at all. There aren't many people staying. There are a lot of empty rooms if you stay on weekdays. He upgraded it for free. It's a magnificent place. This price does not include breakfast.



The room is quite clean but there is no elevator. It will be difficult to walk up if the luggage is big and heavy.



Wake up early before crossing to Koh Rong. This morning, let's take a walk around the city of Sihanoukville. The first destination at Phsar Leu Market.ផ្សារលើ is a large local market. They sell a lot of stuff from everywhere. The price is normal and not too expensive. We don't compare with Thailand, the cost of living is not the same. Thailand is cheaper



It's a big market in Sihanoukville town center where the locals come to shop at this market in the morning. There are a lot of products like our local market in Thailand



The garlands are not familiar in Thailand, but they are beautiful in the form of wooden garlands, priced at 70 baht in Thai Baht



After walking through the market, we had breakfast before traveling to the pier. To get on the boat from Sihanoukville. Similar restaurants order the same as in Thailand, the price is 100 baht per meal

That’s only word I can remember is បាយសាច់ជ្រូក (Bai Sajut) Rice with pork, the spicy sauce is very good. This restaurant is not expensive. For 3 people, rice and soft drinks are about 380 baht in Thai Baht

After finishing the meal, we came for a light coffee, but the price was as expensive as Starbucks in our country and the taste is just as normal same as other cafe



The shop has desserts, bakery and cakes and located next to the sea and the atmosphere is quite good and windy



The pier to cross to Koh Rong is the name of Koh Rong Port. There is a car storage service 300 baht per day for Thai Baht. This is more expensive than the service we offer on going to an island in Thailand. The most is 100 baht per day only



We suggest sitting in the back of the boat as we can’t expect how strong the wave will happen so sitting in the back will avoid getting bumpy. It takes a boat for about 30 minutes and you will reach Koh Rong. The boat ticket has to be booked for the return trip.

We got on a boat from Sihanoukville. The boat drops off at the pier in front of the resort. Get on the boat and walk straight into the resort. Resort staff will be waiting to pick you up at the pier. Or if staying at another resort. There is also a motorbike and tuk tuk service to drop you off at the resort.

Fill in the details of the stay and check-in completed. Before entering the room, you should check in at 14:00 p.m. onwards. Today we are staying at Mad Monkey, a resort on Koh Rong, Long Set Beach 



The atmosphere in front of the resort where we are staying to travel in the rainy season. The sea water is not very clear but the room rate is cheap, not crowded. It’s busier on High season



Our rooms on this trip don't look new outside, the style of Countryside. Let's go look inside



The bedroom is quite new. There are ceiling lights that can change colors and are colorful. Looking at the room from the outside, it looks quite old but inside the room is considered clean



Long set beach is a beach that is more than 1 kilometer long. The sand is soft white. You can swim in front of the beach







At noon, we had lunch at the restaurant near the resort. It has a delicious menu. Explore the shops on the island and most of them are imported from Thailand so the reason why it makes living expenses compared to Thailand, is higher (From admin’s comment)



We rent a motorbike and ride for half a day for about 700 baht (6-8 hours) depending on the agreement. The price on the island is approximately this. The cost of petrol is about 45 baht per liter. Koh Rong is a fairly large island. Traveling to various places riding a motorcycle is the most convenient



Soksan Beach is the most beautiful beach in Koh Rong. Clear seawater, fine white sand, very beautiful. There is a long beachfront but the width of the beach is narrow







Welcome to Koh Rong, a sign showing you have arrived at Koh Rong. Traveling by boat is quite convenient if we travel from Thailand and get on the boat in Sihanoukville quite far







On return, the boat will arrive at the pier around 9:00 a.m. in front of the resort. But on the way back, the boat picked up at the front of the resort and the pier on the island. The boat takes about 1.30 hours, which is longer than arriving at the island. There are still many foreign tourists during the low season



The boat drops us off at the pier of Koh Rong Port, takes a car and travels to Hat Lek border crossing to Thailand. We can say that it was a very take time from Sihanoukville to Koh Rong
